Assunta (Usha) and Barbara (Saraswati) travel to India together to commemorate their dance teacher Kalakshetra K.P. Kunhiraman's 80th birthday in Chennai, with teachers Katherine Kunhiraman and K.P. Yeshoda. Friends for 35 years, and dance partners for several of those years, they return to India together for a three month journey.

Bhubaneswar/Puri Yatra
Our first post! This will be short, because we are off to Odissi Research Center to watch a dance rehearsal with Jyoti Rout and her dancers from USA. They will be performing in a four- day dance festival starting tonight. More later... saraswati

Brilliant and wonderful!! Melissa received a resounding ovation...the audience truly loved and appreciated her performance, which was both heartfelt and showed her deep and abiding love for, and knowledge of, Indian dance. I was moved to tears, myself. Pratibha gave a moving rendition of an ashtapadi (poetic description of the love between Radha and Krishna), and with her two students Swati and Jaya, presented a beautiful dance about the full moon. It was a triumph for all of them to be invited, and to appear in this International Odissi Festival. brava! Xo Saraswati
